Marikina Doctors Hospital and Medical Center (MDHMC or MarDocs) formerly known as Medcor Pasig Hospital and Medical Center is a private, envisioned to be a 100-bed, hospital that was established by a group of specialist doctors in various fields of medicine and businessmen with extensive experience in hospital-building and management. They came together to form a corporation to build the hospital. The hospital has a floor area of more than 14,000 m2, 8-storey building with a roof deck. It opened its’ door to the public last August 1, 2016. At the moment the hospital is operating at half its capacity (50 BEDS).
The hospital sits on a 2200 m2 lot located in Evangelista St., Santolan, Pasig City near Marcos Highway and Santolan LRT station. location to enjoy a tour and free consultation today!
The hospital is accessible by private cars and public tricycles plying the Santolan area. It is also very accessible by LRT line 2 since the train station is just a stone throw away from the hospital. There is also a possibility of a road network at the back of the hospital
The hospital offers to the community diagnostic procedures that are not offered by the other nearby level II hospitals in the area like 64-slice CT scan, Stress Echocardiography, and a fully automated microbiology unit.
The hospital is far from being certified green but it has some features that are environment friendly. First the hospital has a policy on not using mercury-laden equipment like the blood pressure (BP) apparatus and thermometer. It has a proper sewage treatment facility and waste segregation area to limit bio-hazard. With a program on waste segregation, we are selling used materials for recycling. There are plans in the future to put plants in the roof deck and at the atrium which is located in the center of the building (mini gardens). Water in the Dialysis unit coming from reverse osmosis (RO) plant is sterile and distilled. It can be re-used for other purposes like in autoclaving.
The hospital stand beside the Marikina River and is quite near the Valley Fault Line (formerly known as Marikina Valley Fault Line) that extends from Dingalan, Aurora in the north and runs through the cities of Quezon, Marikina, Pasig, Makati, Parañaque, Taguig, and the provinces of Laguna and Cavite.
Cognizant of these facts, the founders made extra effort to adapt the hospital building to the situation. The hospital was built by a triple A-rated construction company. A total of 248 driven piles served as an anchor of the hospital to the ground. The steel was imported from South Korea, and the building itself can withstand a magnitude 8 earthquake. To safeguard expensive equipment and machines in case of severe flooding, the lobby, emergency room, and diagnostic areas is one story higher than the road level. An elevated ramp was provided as an access to these areas. It is noteworthy to note that no flooding has occurred in the area since typhoon Ondoy.
The hospital has fire alarm system and the water sprinkler is compartmentalized. Meaning it will only be activated in the areas where it is needed. It has CCTV cameras installed all over the building for the safety of patients, guests, and employees and for securing the hospital premises and properties. A standby generator was also installed in case of power outrage.
The hospital aims to be the preferred health care institution of these communities:Pasig City specifically the barangays of Santolan, Dela Paz and Manggahan Marikina City specifically the barangays of Industrial Valley, Calumpang and Barangka in Quezon City, Barangays Libis, Blueridge A, and Blueridge B
Together these barangays has a total population of 224,191 according to the 2015 national census done by the Philippine Statistics Agency (www.psa.gov,ph). These barangays are the principal catchment areas of our hospital but we also cater to the nearby municipalities of Cainta and Antipolo City. Moreover, our hospital has received referrals, especially for ICU admissions, from as far as San Mateo, Rodriguez, and Taytay, Rizal.
